The CoE-URDM aims
• to gain, disseminate and apply scientific knowledge in the field of urban and regional development of Myanmar
• to encourage and intensify research on urban and regional development in the states and regions of Myanmar
• to contribute to education and capacity enhancement of scholars and students of the University of Yangon and further universities in Myanmar
• to facilitate academic exchange in topic-related conferences, workshops and seminars
• to support region-based development processes and to deepen the opportunities which emerge from local natural and human resources in growing connection with international economic opportunities
• to improve the network between experts in Myanmar from universities, government and non-government institutions
Beyond its thematic focus, CoE-URDM aims
• to contribute enhancing the academic atmosphere and culture in the University of Yangon and to extend it to other universities of Myanmar
• to contribute to improve the quality of education, training and capacity enhancement
